Volunteer Opportunities

If you love animals and you really want to make a difference, join us at the Florida Keys SPCA as a volunteer. Volunteering at an animal shelter can be a very rewarding experience as you improve the lives of animals waiting for a new home. There are a number of activities in which you can participate:

The animals need you to:

• Brush and bathe them
• Walk and visit with them
• Socialize them
• Clean up after them :)
• Help them learn manners
• Greet and guide potential new adopters
• Help keep the grounds neat and tidy
• Do small repairs and projects
• Help raise money for their comforts
• Assist with spay/neuter program
• Love them

We have opportunities in the shelter for individuals 18 years and older. We ask you to make a three month commitment of at least 8 hours a month. You must complete a volunteer application and attend a general orientation. You must complete training for the volunteer job you would like to do. The animals need your help and we respect your time and commitment, therefore we make every effort to make your time with us rewarding for both you and the animals.
